AÉRO MONTRÉAL GOLF CLASSIC — A BRAND-NEW FEATURE FOR THE 2018 EDITION This year, in response to requests made by many of you, we have decided to innovate and diversify by offering, in addition to the golf activity, a bike activity. It will be held under Honorary Chair Michel Grenier, Vice President and General Manager, Thales Canada. Take advantage of this event to network in a friendly atmosphere with your partners, your customers and your colleagues in the industry. Reserve the best location and give your company maximum visibility by calling Sharon Core (514 987-9369) now to become a partner of the event. SME — TWO CALLS FOR PROJECTS ARE APPLICABLE TO YOU; NOTE THE DEADLINES! The Ministry of the Economy, Science and Innovation recently issued two calls for projects: - Phase 3 of the SA2GE greener aircraft mobilizing project — DEADLINE: JUNE 8, 2018 — Click here to participate and learn all about the project. This third phase will be spread over three years and will include technological demonstration sub-projects totalling $50 million, financed equally by the Québec government and private partners. - Strategic mobilizing projects — DEADLINE: JUNE 1, 2018 — Click here to learn more about this call for projects and to participate. Financial support of $60 million is planned over the next two years for one or more strategic mobilizing projects. This call for projects aims to encourage investment partnerships with companies and organizations in various fields to increase their growth potential, particularly through innovation.
DEFENCE WORKING GROUP Future Aircrew Training Program (FAcT) Aéro Montréal recently became involved in the FAcT project by participating in the industry day and one-on-one meetings with the government. The Royal Canadian Air Force is seeking systems for crew training to ensure that the Canadian Armed Forces protect our country, ensure safety in North America, and are engaged on a global scale. The FAcT project will include training for pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers (ACSOs) and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators.
Reminder – Several activities are worth marking down in your agenda: We will be present at the CANSEC tradeshow, May 30th and 31st, to facilitate your various meetings. Also note that Top Aces Corp will be present at the show and is looking to hold meetings with companies in the sector. Also, we are looking for 15 Québec companies interested in the defence market in the United States for a pilot project that will help you identify US defence and security business opportunities. For more information about each of these initiatives, contact Charbel Khoury.
Early notice of the first call for proposals for the creation of innovation networks under the IDEaS program To foster the free flow of ideas, the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program will support the creation of innovation networks in sectors of interest to Canada in defence and security. A call for proposals for the creation of innovation networks, one of eight elements of the IDEaS program, will be launched in the coming weeks.
