Hello all,

LABOUR SHORTAGES – A MAJOR CHALLENGE
We have been talking about the challenges posed by labour shortages for several months. Two weeks ago, this issue was the subject of the National Workforce Strategy tabled by the Government of Québec. It proposed several solutions to the challenges of the aerospace workforce, including:
- The possibility for educational institutions to offer training in highly sought-after sectors even if the minimum enrolment quota is below the targeted norms.
- Salary financing for employees who take eligible training.
- The new tax credit for companies who take on university-level interns. This will be a significant incentive for companies.

In addition, Aéro Montréal has launched a national careers promotion campaign called Rise to the Future in partnership with the CAMAQ, ÉNA, ÉMAM and industry partners. This campaign has already received extensive coverage in the media and on social networks. I encourage each of our members who are facing recruitment challenges to use visuals from this campaign to spread the word. To do so, contact Gary Bergès-Clermont.
Finally, on June 12 we will unveil our 4.0 Skills Guide in Aerospace at a special event hosted by Norton Rose Fulbright, our partner. During the morning, you will also be presented with the National Workforce Strategy. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about tomorrow's challenges in aerospace recruitment.

AÉRO MONTRÉAL ATTENDED THE CANSEC TRADESHOW IN OTTAWA ON MAY 30 AND 31
During the two-day show we met some 20 companies and representatives from the government and associations, prime contractors and local and international suppliers. In particular, we took advantage of these meetings to present the SDQuébec defence security portal (www.sdquebec.ca), a collaborative tool facilitating business development in the defence sector.
We also discussed Aéro Montréal’s positioning as a partner for certain projects related to key industrial capabilities and the value proposition for acquisition projects.

THE SNOWBIRDS IN OLD MONTRÉAL ON JUNE 28!
Don’t miss the Canadian Forces Snowbirds airshow on Thursday, June 28 being organized by Aéro Montréal at the Old Port of Montréal. This day will also be an opportunity to educate the general public about careers in aerospace. Several conferences will also be organized for industry professionals.
More information will be available on the event’s website in the coming days.

FARNBOROUGH AIRSHOW — 30 QUÉBEC SMEs ARE JOINING THE TRADE MISSION
Every year, Aéro Montréal collaborates with the Ministry of the Economy, Science and Innovation to organize a trade mission for Québec SMEs to the world’s largest aerospace shows. This year, nearly 30 SMEs will join the delegation that will visit Farnborough from July 14 to 20.
Mark down in your calendars the welcome cocktail on Saturday, July 14 and the networking dinner on Wednesday, July 18. More details will be sent to you in the coming days.

COME WITH US TO THE EURÊKA! FESTIVAL ON THE PROMENADE OF THE OLD PORT OF MONTRÉAL ON JUNE 8 and 10
Visit our booth (space 27) during the three-day event to learn about the many original activities stemming from our Passion for Flight and Passion from Within programs. Young visitors will be able to put themselves in the shoes of an aerospace worker by learning about the concepts of gravity and the different forces affecting the flight of aircraft.
