Hello all,
MANY AÉRO MONTRÉAL MEMBERS ARE ATTENDING THE 2018 FARNBOROUGH AIRSHOW A delegation composed of about 30 SMEs and organizations arrived Saturday at the Farnborough International Airshow. This delegation was formed by Aéro Montréal, the Ministry of Economy, Science and Innovation, as well as Export Québec, as part of an economic mission to promote the aerospace industrial capabilities of our companies on the international stage.
This mission is already a success based on the meetings that have been generated between our SMEs and potential partners. The Farnborough International Airshow is one of the world’s largest aerospace exhibitions with more than 1,500 exhibitors from 52 different countries. In 2016, the airshow generated $124 billion in firm orders and options.
Our Québec companies are this year positioning themselves very well in this ecosystem and I congratulate them! Here is the list of SMEs participating in the trade mission: AAA Canada Airdata Alphacasting Avior CanRep CEL Aerospace Delastek Global Partner Solutions Groupe DCM Groupe Lev-Fab Groupe Meloche Marmen MDA Corporation Mecaer America MIP Nétur PCM Innovation Placeteco Quentus International Shockform Aeronautique Sonaca Montréal
We are also taking advantage of the show to give our SMEs the opportunity to more easily establish business relationships with international partners. Yesterday, Tuesday, we signed an agreement with Aerospace Wales, the aerospace cluster of Wales. This agreement aims to facilitate and develop the commercial links between our two aerospace clusters. The objective is to facilitate the access of our respective companies to prime contractors and their supply chains.

Tonight, Wednesday, Aéro Montréal will hold its traditional international networking dinner in the presence of Dominique Anglade, Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation, as well as all mission participants.
Our partner, Norton Rose Fulbright, also gave a conference on Saturday on blockchains, which is a subject of clear interest to our members. Here is the documentation: Brexit_ Aviation and Transitional Arrangements Legalflyer January 2018 edition - Blockchain-for-Aviation
Once again, I encourage all our SME members to participate in the economic missions we organize. They make it possible to establish business relations that are critical for the internationalization of our companies and can help you grow! Thank you for your involvement!
