INTERNATIONAL AEROSPACE WEEK – MONTRÉAL 2017: a record edition! Last week we held the 3rd edition of International Aerospace Week – Montréal. This edition enjoyed a record attendance of more than 2,250 participants over five days and six separate events. Our visitors came from all over the world and represented the entire ecosystem of the Québec and international aerospace industry.
SEMINAR ON DEFENCE AND ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE PROJECTS Launch of the Portail Croissance Sécurité Défense Québec This event allowed us to kick-off the week in the presence of Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, the Honourable Navdeep Bains, and Québec’s Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation, Ms. Dominique Anglade. 250 participants, 50 SMEs present and 200 B2B/B2G meetings generated! A record! The participation of Québec aerospace SMEs in defence tenders is crucial to maintaining the competitiveness of our industry on a global scale. GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN SUMMIT – The theme of industry 4.0 attracts record participation! The event's flagship event was opened by the Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, Ms. Christine St-Pierre, Québec Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie and Montréal Mayor Mr. Denis Coderre, in front of an audience of nearly 500 participants from all over the world. This participation rate had never been seen before! The timely theme of “From Vision to Reality: Breaking Through the World of 4.0” appealed to all players in the aerospace industry, particularly our SMEs, as it is essential to improving their position in the global value chain. DRONES SEMINAR – Signing of a letter of intent between the UAS Centre of Excellence and Aéro Montréal A major collaboration in the drones excellence sector! Ms. Suzanne M. Benoît, Aéro Montréal's President, and Mr. Marc Moffatt, Director General of the UAS Centre of Excellence, signed a letter of agreement to work together to establish a working committee on drones. The ceremony was held in the presence of Ms. Dominique Anglade, Québec's Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation, and Ms. Cynthia Garneau, President of Bell Helicopter Textron Canada To learn more, click here.
QUÉBEC – NEW YORK STATE CORRIDOR – Signature of an agreement with the North Country Chamber of Commerce Developing collaborative agreements brings joint opportunities for exchanges, activities and trade missions to our members, particularly our SMEs. NAmTrans and Aéro Montréal share common goals of expanding our aerospace companies in global supply chains. We believe that collaboration between our two organizations will have a concrete impact on the expansion of activities in the Québec - New York corridor. Mr. Garry F. Douglas, President of the North Country Chamber of Commerce and NAmTrans, and Aéro Montréal President Ms. Suzanne M. Benoît signed the agreement in the presence of Mr. Colin Read, mayor of Plattsburgh and Mr. Christopher Bohlmann, VP Operation for Norsk Titanium. For more information, click here.
A FIRST IN QUÉBEC – Official launch of the Careers section on the AeroPortal site, dedicated exclusively to job and internship opportunities in aerospace Aéro Montréal took advantage of the week to announce the launch of new functionalities on its Aeroportail.ca website, thereby expanding the scope of services offered to companies and job seekers in the aerospace industry. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR LAUNCH PROMOTION: A FREE TRIAL MONTH FOR COMPANIES!
