PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello all,

Aéro Montréal sparks passion for aviation among Laval youth
On May 26th, Aéro Montréal deployed the “Passion for Flight” and “Passion from Within” programs at schools in the Commission scolaire de Laval, with financial support from the Québec government’s NovaScience program. The event was held at L'Orée-des-Bois school. In addition to about 100 students, it was attended by Saul Polo, MNA for Laval-des-Rapides and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation; Monique Sauvé, MNA for Fabre and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity; and Louise Lortie, President of the Commission scolaire de Laval.
Also noteworthy was the presence of representatives from Arconic and Bombardier who answered student questions about their professions.
The Alcoa Foundation (today the Arconic Foundation) contributed US $20,000 in July 2015 to the initial development of these programs in Greater Montréal schools.
Encouraging young people to develop an interest in science, mathematics and the aerospace sector is essential to create a pool of talent in Québec and to ensure the future of our sector through exciting, high value-added jobs.
Read the press release and see the photos of the event.
