MACH SEMINAR This morning, as part of our Évolution MACH series, we held a seminar for companies enrolled in the MACH program entitled “How to Implement a LEAN Daily Management System: Netur’s Experience,” attended by 43 people, from 21 SME. This seminar was held at the offices of Norton Rose Fulbright, a long-time cluster partner that is very involved in the MACH Initiative, which aims to help SMEs improve their competitiveness.
CANADA’S NEW DEFENCE POLICY - Major investments in new capabilities, innovation and technologies will help promote collaboration among Québec aerospace SMEs The federal government unveiled its new defence policy on June 7, announcing investments that will increase from $18.9 billion to $32.7 billion by 2026-2027. This is very promising news for the defence and national security sector in Québec. I invite you to review the importance of the measures announced by the federal government for our sector in our press release.
Aéro Montréal Mission to Vermont – September 27, 2017 DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: FRIDAY, AUGUST 11, 2017! Canadian Space Agency Solicits SMEs Three Invitations to Tender for the Space Technology Development Program (STDP) have just been released and are targeted specifically at SMEs. You have until July 21 to answer!
AEROSPACE IS HIRING – Special event at the ÉMAM On June 7, Aéro Montréal organized a half-day recruitment event at the École des métiers de l'aérospatiale de Montréal (ÉMAM) as part of the AeroPortal Careers initiative. This activity was designed to meet the recruitment needs of SMEs for machinist and operator positions. Meloche, PCM Techfab, Techniprodec and ThyssenKrupp met with skilled students who are passionate about our sector. FESTIVAL EURÊKA! A BIG SUCCESS Aéro Montréal was present at the Eureka! Festival which was held last weekend. Don’t miss the RDI news report on the subject! Raising awareness among young people about science, technology and innovation is a priority for the cluster.
TRAINING AND COACHING SESSIONS – DEFENCE AND NATIONAL SECURITY – HAVE STARTED The first cohort for business development training and coaching in the field of defence and national security began on June 9th. We are currently recruiting the companies that will make up the second cohort in January 2018. For more details, visit our web page.
SUPER CLUSTERS The aerospace cluster will file a letter of interest on July 21 as part of the innovation super cluster programs. Two Innovation Working Group committees, composed of industrial, university and CARIC members, are working to identify the structuring projects that will form the core of the aerospace sector’s proposal, and to define how this new way of collaborating will work.
