Hello all,
We are holding an event in Québec City today that aims to raise awareness among companies, the next generation of workers and public authorities about the challenges related to a scarcity of aerospace workers at a time when our industry is experiencing very favourable growth prospects in the coming years. The event, organized in partnership with Québec International, is entitled “Decision-makers and aerospace succession: how to move forward in 4.0” and is taking place at the Château Frontenac.
According to a recent study by Ernst & Young, 60% of the workers that will be hired in 2030 will hold trades that do not yet exist. These trades will be linked to Industry 4.0 and, more generally, to disruptive technologies. We need to intensify collaborations and work together with companies of all sizes, governments, the next generation and educational institutions to encourage young people to choose careers in aerospace.
TABLING OF A SPECIAL MOTION IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY On the sidelines of this event, a motion was tabled in the National Assembly. It has now been recognized that Québec’s aerospace sector is a true engine of growth and wealth creation for all of Québec. The motion also emphasized the need to invest in human capital development and succession training. The exceptional innovation capacity of the aerospace sector in Québec, a source of great pride for all Quebecers, has been highlighted by the government.
