Hello all,
Annual General Meeting – Seizing New Heights! On Monday, May 8, we held the Annual General Meeting of Aéro Montréal, which highlighted the 10th anniversary of Québec’s aerospace cluster in 2016 and reported very positive results for the year. The event was attended by nearly 150 industry players at the Cosmodôme de Laval in the presence of Marc Demers, Mayor of Laval. Guest of honour Ms. Manon Brassard, Deputy Minister/President of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Québec, presented the CED’s 2021 Strategic Plan, which includes several measures focused on SMEs. We are very pleased to welcome new members to our Board of Directors, including three SMEs: AV&R (Jean-François Dupont, President and CEO), Groupe DCM (Éric Ledoux, President and CEO), and NSE Automatech (Jacques Ouellet, CEO). The École de technologie supérieure (Pierre Dumouchel Director General) is also joining the board as an institutional member.
Here’s what they said: “Ten years ago, Aéro Montréal’s goal was to bring together universities, prime contractors and all the players in the industry around the same table. Mission accomplished! Today, the sector faces major challenges. One of the mandates of the CED is to create and develop measures that support companies in making investments that are favorable to the economy". Manon Brassard, Deputy Minister/President of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Québec
"That the cluster chose Laval is a privilege. We have several aerospace companies in the region. In addition, Laval has one of the strongest demographic growth rates in Québec”. Marc Demers, Mayor of Laval
“A pivotal and highly successful year for Aéro Montréal, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2016. Aéro Montréal is well positioned to meet the challenges of tomorrow”. Hélène V. Gagnon, Chair of the Board of Directors of Aéro Montréal and Vice President, Public Affairs and Global Communications, at CAE
"The Cosmodôme, whose concept is unique in Canada, organizes initiatives to support the next generation. It is one of the jewels of the Montréal region”. Jacques Comtois, Chair of the Cosmodôme de Laval, President of L3 MAS and board member of Aéro Montréal
