Media mission during the International Aerospace Week – Montréal SMEs take center stage! The International Aerospace Week – Montréal 2017 provided an opportunity to welcome specialized journalists of which several had the chance to meet with Québec businesses. Demo Zone 4.0, which Aero Montréal set up in partnership with Emploi Québec, also enabled solutions and services suppliers to demonstrate their know-how, to support our aerospace sector SMEs in their quest for automation. This Media Mission also provided the opportunity to visit several businesses, including Abipa, during which Jean Blondin presented his company to three journalists who visited the facilities.
Outlook Ottawa – Aéro Montréal supports companies interested in investing in the defence and security sector Aéro Montréal recently supported Quebec SMEs in Ottawa during the Outlook event, as part of the Defence and National Security working group’s Passport for SMEs 2017 initiative. The Outlook event, which was held on April 11th, 12th and 13th, focused on needs of the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Navy and enabled the industry to better position itself with respect to defense projects. The Aéro Montréal team served as liaison between participating SMEs and Canadian Armed Forces and contracting party personnel that were present. The Passport for SMEs 2017 initiative is also part of the new Croissance Sécurité Défense Québec (CSDQ) portal project which was announced at International Aerospace Week on April 3rd. The portal will serve as an indispensable tool to help Quebec SMEs in their sector business development efforts. (Please contact charbel.khoury@aeromontreal.ca or sylvain.lefrancois@aeromontreal.ca if you have any questions about portal content).
School career, guidance and training counselors meet with our companies To help counselors to better guide and target future workers to the aerospace sector, Aéro Montréal, in partnership with CAMAQ, is organizing an awareness-raising event that highlights existing programs and business needs. The effort is a first "Discovery Course," which will be held on April 26th. The day will focus on visits to two major Greater Montréal aerospace industry players: L3 MAS and Safran Landing Systems. This effort will enable guidance counselors to acquire background knowledge that will help them to assist students in choosing an aerospace sector career, to tell students about the many advantages offered by our sector and make them aware of the various occupations. (from specialized worker, to technician to engineer).
