Hello all,
Succession and the workforce have been at the forefront of Aéro Montréal’s activities over the past two weeks!
Aéro Montréal was present last week at the “Rendezvous national” workforce meeting in Québec City during which Québec Premier Phillipe Couillard announced the creation of a national workforce strategy. Workforce and succession issues are among the main challenges faced by our SMEs, who are constantly looking for qualified professionals. Aéro Montréal is pleased with this announcement because it responds to all the points raised in our White Paper entitled “Propelling the talents of aerospace towards aerospace 4.0,” including future skills and the need to continue efforts to promote careers among young people.
Also, in a major first for the next generation: Aéro Montréal, through its AeroPortal, last Friday held its first webinar with CAE. The event, broadcast live on the AeroPortal’s Facebook page, was an extraordinary success. To date, nearly 1,500 people have viewed the video and submitted questions to the company and human resources representatives. Don’t miss the next webinar which will be broadcast live on March 24 directly from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on the AeroPortal Facebook page.
Attention companies and SMEs interested in taking part in four major events in 2017 in the defence sector: we’re offering you the exclusive opportunity to purchase a “Defence Passport”. Take advantage of the best combined rate and save 40% while becoming a member of the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI). Hurry, quantities are limited!
Also, in cooperation with CAMAQ, the Comité sectorial de la main-d’oeuvre en aérospatiale du Québec, we are organizing a one-day Parcours Découverte (Discovery tour) on Wednesday, April 26th. The day will be dedicated to a visit to two leading players of Greater Montréal’s aerospace industry: L3 MAS and Safran Landing Systems. This program is designed exclusively for guidance counselors and school and professional information counselors.
Signature of an agreement between Aéro Montréal and the Centre de transfert d’entreprise du Québec (CTEQ). Mr. Vincent Lecorne, President and CEO of CTEQ, met with Ms. Benoît, President of Aéro Montréal, on February 13, to sign a collaboration agreement between the two organizations aimed at raising aerospace companies’ awareness about business transfers.
IMPORTANT REMINDER – Register now for one of our major events planned for International Aerospace Week – Montréal (April 3 to 7)!
Suzanne M. Benoît
