Today, the aerospace sector needs manpower.
Nearly 30,000 jobs to fill within 10 years
An increasing number of you are posting job offers on AéroPortail.ca. There are now nearly 200 positions available. There are numerous job opportunities in our field, for engineers as well as for professionals, skilled workers and technicians. To meet this demand, we are encouraging young people to pursue fields of study related to science and technology and to choose careers in aerospace. We are emphasizing the importance of developing more flexible and shorter training programs. We are looking for ways to facilitate the recognition of diplomas held by foreign workers. Aéro Montréal is working to raise public awareness about this challenge and to help companies of all sizes recruit the workers they need.

DEFENCE AND NATIONAL SECURITY WORKING GROUP
Aéro Montréal hosted the “Canada-Ukraine Aerospace Business Forum” on November 1st at the Intercontinental Hotel in Montréal. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Canadian Space Agency, represented by its President, Mr. Sylvain Laporte, and the Ukrainian Space Agency, represented by Mr. Sergii Kutovoy, in the presence of Ms. Mélanie Lussier, Vice President, Operations, Aéro Montréal.

GROWTH WORKING GROUP – LAUNCH OF DRONES COMMITTEE
On October 30, Aéro Montréal launched its Drones Committee, co-led with the Unmanned Aerial System Center of Excellence (CED) and chaired by Mr. Marc Moffat, Executive Director of the CED. This initiative follows the agreement signed between the two organizations on April 3, 2017 during International Aerospace Week - Montréal 2017.
The committee aims to position Québec as an important and recognized player in the drones sector in Canada and internationally. By creating synergies within the drones community, and by uniting voices within the industry, we can better defend the interests of companies and ensure their development.
LATEST NEWS – Aéro Montréal comes out in favour of renegotiating the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)
Discussions to renegotiate the deal, following the withdrawal of the United States, should take place this week in Da Nang, Vietnam, during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. The implementation of the TPP is more essential than ever to enable our companies to develop in the Asian markets and improve their competitiveness.
