A FRUITFUL ECONOMIC MISSION IN FRANCE FOR AÉRO MONTRÉAL
I had the opportunity to accompany Premier Philippe Couillard to France during a major economic mission in the aerospace, entrepreneurship and digital sectors organized by the Ministry of Economy, Science and Innovation. I was able to represent the interests of the aerospace cluster at the highest levels and underscore the quality of the companies in our ecosystem.
This mission provided an opportunity to sign two partnership agreements. The first was with Aerospace Valley, the competitiveness cluster of the aeronautics, space and embedded systems sectors in Nouvelle Aquitaine and Occitanie/Pyrénées-Méditerranée; and the second was with GIFAS (Group of French aeronautical and space industries). These two agreements are aimed at facilitating interactions among SMEs and promoting the business development of our members.
A SUCCESS FOR INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
Aéro Montréal, in collaboration with Aéro Montréal’s Regroupement relève, organized a very successful event during International Women's Day on March 8th. Nearly 160 people participated.
We had the immense privilege of listening to renowned speakers, including: the Mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante; the first woman pilot at Air Canada, Judy Cameron; the first female pilot of the United Arab Emirates who also sits on ICAO’s board of directors, Capt. Aysha Al Hamili; Bell President Cynthia Garneau; CAMAQ President and CEO Nathalie Paré; and many other inspiring women and men.
I am delighted that this event was such a success, and especially pleased that young women and male students came to show their interest in developing a career in aerospace, an environment where women are still too often underrepresented.

“PME DÉCOUVERTE” BREAKFAST AT ABIPA – Wednesday, March 28
This event is reserved for company members of Aéro Montréal.
During the activity, Jean Blondin, President of Abipa, will share his experience regarding the company’s transition to the 4.0 factory, including the implementation of robotics and digital technologies.
