PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello all,

WORKING GROUP NEWS

• Defence and National Security
As part of the launch of the Croissance Sécurité Défense Québec portal, which will be online soon, Aéro Montréal, STIQ and Québec International invite you to consult the June report of the monthly Active Opportunity Monitoring Newsletter. This provides SMEs with information about the various opportunities offered by national defence procurement programs and federal industrial and technological benefits (ITB) programs and policies.

• Human Resources
Two sub-committees, each composed of about 10 participants and addressing the following issues, met last Friday: the INTERNSHIPS subcommittee, which aims to optimize the internship models currently offered in Québec and better meet the needs of companies, inspired by the German DUAL model; the 4.0 Skills subcommittee, which is creating an Aerospace 4.0 Skills Guide to enable educational institutions to modify and adapt their training programs to the future needs of companies.
The newly formed Aéro Montréal student subcommittee, comprised of representatives from Québec’s main universities, participated in the 2017 Paris Air Show and visited the Bell Helicopter and Bombardier kiosks. Students from Concordia, ÉTS, McGill and Polytechnique Montréal also had a private meeting with Arias Esteban, production test pilot for the CSeries aircraft. See the articles about this subject published by Concordia and in the Journal de Montréal.
